Driving School

About the School

A-1 Driver Training School was started in 1977 by Robert T. Blinkhorn and has proudly served the North Huntingdon township and surrounding areas ever since. In 2002, Robert’s son-in-law, Todd Carolan, joined as an instructor, and took ownership of the business in 2015. The expectation of excellent service, patient and result oriented instruction started by Robert continues on in today’s instruction. Todd Carolan is licensed by PA Department of Education and has passed all required background checks.

Driving Test

A-1 Driver Training School will prepare you for the Pennsylvania drivers license test.  During lessons we will cover all the possible situations encountered at test centers.  These possibilities include, but are not limited to; parallel parking; lane changing; merge and yield.
Students have a high pass rate.
Driving tests are administered by PennDOT examiners.
A-1 Driver Training School goes to Jeannette and New Kensington PennDOT test centers.
If A-1 Driving School is taking your minor child for their test, you will need to have the Parent or Guardian Cercification Form DL-180C filled out and notarized. The DL-180C form states the teen has had 65 hours of supervised driving by a licensed PA driver over the age of 21.
